Before/After: A Scooter Startup’s Profit Jump After Switching to CHISEN

The Startup: Big Dreams, Tight Margins

When Amit Sharma launched his electric scooter distribution business in Jaipur, Rajasthan in 2020, he had ₹800,000 in startup capital, three employees, and a fierce determination to compete against established players.

His strategy was simple: offer quality electric scooters at a price that undercut the premium brands, backed by exceptional customer service.

Within six months, he was close to bankruptcy.

    The Problem Was the Battery

Amit’s previous supplier delivered batteries that looked good on paper but failed relentlessly in the field. His customer return rate hit 22%. His phone rang constantly with complaints. He was spending 60% of his working capital on warranty replacements.

“I was essentially running a battery replacement business on the side,” Amit said. “The scooter sales were just funding the warranty claims.”

    The math was devastating:

    • Average battery lifespan: 5.5 months
    • Warranty replacement cost: ₹3,200 per battery
    • Monthly warranty claims: 45 batteries
    • Monthly warranty cost: ₹144,000

At his revenue volume, this was unsustainable.

    The CHISEN Conversation

Amit found CHISEN through a trade directory. Skeptical but desperate, he ordered 20 CHISEN 6-DZF-20 batteries as samples.

Those 20 batteries ran for 18 months before the first one showed signs of wear.

“I couldn’t believe it,” Amit said. “Same price range, same specifications on paper, completely different results in the real world.”

    The Transition (2021–2022)

Amit gradually replaced his entire inventory with CHISEN batteries over a four-month period:

Month 1: New customers received CHISEN batteries

Month 2: Existing customers on warranty upgraded to CHISEN at no charge

    Month 3: Full inventory transitioned

    Month 4: Warranty backlog cleared

Investment in transition: ₹280,000 (warranty upgrades funded by savings from reduced claims)

    The Profit Jump: What Changed

The numbers above tell one story. The real transformation was in Amit’s business confidence.

Before CHISEN, he was terrified of growth. Every new customer was potential future warranty liability. He actively avoided scaling his inventory.

After CHISEN, growth became a profit multiplier. Better batteries meant fewer warranty claims meant more working capital available for expansion.

Today, Amit’s business employs 12 people, operates across three cities in Rajasthan, and is the regional market leader for e-scooter distribution in his price segment.

Indian Fleet Operator: CHISEN Batteries Reduced Downtime by 60%

    Background: Running 2,400 E-Rickshaws on a Budget

Fleet operations are ruthless about downtime. Every hour an e-rickshaw sits idle is revenue lost. For a large fleet operator in Gujarat managing over 2,400 electric autorickshaws, battery reliability was the single biggest operational challenge.

In 2021, their fleet was experiencing an average of 340 battery-related breakdowns per month. With each breakdown costing approximately ₹1,800 in towing, replacement battery rental, and lost fares, the monthly battery failure cost exceeded ₹612,000 — before accounting for driver frustration and customer dissatisfaction.

    Root Cause Analysis

Working with CHISEN’s technical team, the operation identified three key problems with their previous battery supplier:

    1. Inconsistent charging protocols — Drivers charged batteries inconsistently, leading to sulfation damage

    2. Poor high-temperature performance — Summer temperatures in Gujarat regularly exceed 45°C, causing premature battery failure

    3. No real battery health data — Operations team had no visibility into battery condition until a breakdown occurred

CHISEN proposed a comprehensive solution combining superior battery technology with operational support.

    The CHISEN Solution

    Battery upgrade:

    • Replaced existing batteries with CHISEN 6-DMF-38 series, rated for high-temperature operation
    • Implemented CHISEN’s recommended equalization charging schedule
    • Trained all 180 drivers on proper charging practices

    Ongoing support:

    • Monthly technical review with CHISEN India representative
    • Battery health monitoring program established
    • Replacement stock strategically positioned at three depot locations

The Numbers: 14 Months of Data

The fleet tracked performance metrics meticulously. After 14 months with CHISEN batteries:

    MetricPrevious SupplierCHISENChange
    Monthly breakdowns340136-60%
    Monthly battery cost (INR)₹612,000₹218,000-64%
    Average battery lifespan9 months22 months+144%
    Fleet uptime78%94%+16pts
    Driver satisfaction52%88%+36pts

    The Real Savings

Beyond the direct cost reductions, the operations director identified several less-visible benefits:

    • Driver retention improved — Stable battery performance meant predictable income for drivers, reducing turnover
    • Customer ratings rose — Fewer vehicles breaking down improved passenger experience scores
    • Fleet expansion became viable — Reliable batteries meant the operation could confidently add 400 more vehicles without proportional staffing increases

    Key Takeaway

“CHISEN’s 6-DMF batteries are specifically designed for Indian climate conditions,” the operations director noted. “The difference between these and our previous batteries is obvious the moment summer arrives.”

§1 Product Definition: What Exactly is OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah?

The CHISEN OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah is a valve-regulated tubular gel lead-acid battery with a nominal voltage of 2V DC and a rated capacity of 1000Ah (measured at the 10-hour discharge rate, C10, terminating at 1.80V/cell at 25°C). The “OPzV” prefix originates from the German DIN 40472 standard: “Ortsfeste Panzerplatten” (stationary tubular armored plates) with “V” indicating valve-regulated sealed construction. The trailing “1000” refers to capacity in ampere-hours.

Unlike flat-plate AGM batteries, the OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah uses tubular positive plates — a design where the positive active material (PbO₂) is encased in corrosion-resistant fiberglass tubes with a cast Pb-Ca alloy spine. This structure prevents active material shedding and delivers 1.5-2× the cycle life of flat-plate designs, making it ideal for industrial backup where the battery must reliably cycle for 15-20+ years.

The electrolyte is nano-silica gel (SiO₂ fumed gel + dilute H₂SO₄) — a three-dimensional network that immobilizes the electrolyte, eliminating stratification and allowing operation across a wide temperature range of -40°C to +65°C. The battery is maintenance-free: no water topping is required during its service life.

§2 Why “OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah” Is the Most-Searched Capacity in Industrial Backup

Industrial procurement teams searching for “OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah” are typically weighing this capacity against two extremes: 500Ah (too small for multi-hour backup) and 2000Ah (oversized for most telecom/UPS loads, with 2× the cells to manage in series strings). The 1000Ah capacity is the engineering sweet spot because it delivers:

    • Multi-hour backup at 48V: 24 cells × 2V = 48V system at 1000Ah = 48 kWh total. A 5 kW load runs for ~9.6 hours (accounting for inverter efficiency of 0.85 and 25°C operation).
    • Manageable series counts: 24 cells per 48V string is easy to install, monitor, and maintain. Larger capacities (2000Ah) often require parallel strings, complicating balance and increasing failure risk.
    • Standardized rack/cabinet fit: 233×210×646mm footprint allows standard 19″ battery cabinet integration.
    • Mature global supply chain: 1000Ah is the most-produced tubular cell globally — 60+ countries’ distributors stock this capacity.

The “2V1000Ah” portion of the search term is critical: B2B buyers use the model + voltage + capacity combination as the unique identifier for cross-referencing OEM datasheets, IEC certificates, and project specifications. Generic searches like “2V 1000Ah battery” or “OPzV 1000” miss the specificity that procurement teams need.

§3 Model Naming Rules — OPzV Letter Breakdown per DIN 40472

The CHISEN OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah model naming follows German DIN 40472:2015 (valve-regulated tubular) + international IEC 60896 standard naming conventions. The “OPz” abbreviation originates from the German “Ortsfeste Panzerplatten” meaning “stationary tubular armored plates.”

LetterGerman Full Name / MeaningTechnical Meaning
OPzOrtsfeste Panzerplatten / Stationary Tubular Armored PlatePositive plate = Tubular plate design
VV = Valve Regulated (sealed) / V = Vented (open)Valve-regulated sealed / GEL gel electrolyte
    22V cell voltage48V = 24 cells / 110V = 54 cells / 220V = 108 cells in series
    10001000Ah capacity (C₁₀ / 10-hour rate)10-hour rate discharge to 1.80V/cell

Cross-reference with OPzS (DIN 40736-1): OPzS is the flooded (vented) counterpart using the same tubular positive plate construction. The “V” vs “S” distinction determines whether the electrolyte is sealed gel (OPzV) or open liquid (OPzS). For the OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah specifically, the design is fully sealed and maintenance-free.

    §10 Cycle Life Deep-Dive + 20-Year TCO Life-Cycle Cost Comparison

    10.1 Cycle Life

CHISEN OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah cycle life ≥1500 cycles (depth of discharge 80%, IEC 60896-21 standard test conditions, 25°C). The tubular positive plate (Tubular plate) design is the core advantage — at the same capacity, cycle life is 1.5-2× that of flat-plate batteries.

10.2 Tubular vs Flat Plate Positive Plate Cycle Life Comparison (DIN 40472 + measured)

Depth of Discharge (DOD)Tubular (CHISEN OPzV/OPzS)Flat Plate (AGM)Life Multiplier

    Replacements Needed in 20 Years0 (one-time purchase)0 (with good maintenance)1-2 (around year 8 / year 16)
Annual Maintenance CostVery low (maintenance-free)Medium (water refill every 3-6 months + cleaning)Medium (voltage monitoring + cleaning)
20-Year TCOMedium (higher purchase + low maintenance)Low (lower purchase + medium maintenance)High (low purchase + short life = multiple replacements)

B2B Key Conclusion: Tubular batteries’ initial purchase price is 1.5-2× higher than flat-plate AGM, but the life is 2× longer, making the 20-year TCO 30-40% lower than AGM. For OPzV2-1000 2V1000Ah specifically, the TCO advantage is most pronounced in 15-20 year telecom and data center projects where replacement labor and downtime costs are significant.

11.1 Float Voltage Temperature Compensation Formula (IEC 60896-21:2004)

    V_float (measured temperature) = 2.27V + (-3.3mV/°C) × (measured temperature – 25°C)

    Ambient TemperatureCalculationCompensated Float Voltage
    25°C (reference)2.27V (no compensation)2.25-2.27V
    15°C2.27 + (-3.3mV × -10)2.30V
    35°C2.27 + (-3.3mV × 10)2.24V
    45°C2.27 + (-3.3mV × 20)2.20V
    55°C2.27 + (-3.3mV × 30)2.17V

    11.2 Equalize Voltage (Independent Compensation)

2.30-2.35V/cell (@25°C) with -5mV/°C/cell compensation, purpose: lagging battery supplementary charge / monthly once, switch back to float after equalize.

Float voltage accuracy requirement: ±1% (±25mV), exceeding this range will significantly shorten battery life.

    Float current: < 5mA/Ah (CHISEN spec), i.e. 1000Ah battery float current < 5A.

    2. Installation Environment: Battery cabinet / rack installation, ≥100mm from ground (moisture-proof), ≥50mm from wall (heat dissipation); operating temperature -40°C ~ 65°C (discharge) / -30°C ~ 65°C (charge), forced ventilation cooling above 45°C; altitude >3000m each +1000m capacity derating 8% (GB/T 19638); away from heat sources + direct sunlight + corrosive gases.

    3. Routine Inspection (Weekly 1 time / remote sites monthly 1 time): Terminal connection check torque 10-12 N·m, no looseness / oxidation / heating (infrared temperature measurement); container check no bulging / leakage / crack (OPzV gel no leakage but check container); individual voltage deviation < ±0.05V (exceed then enter equalize state); container temperature vs ambient temperature difference < 5°C (exceed then troubleshoot connection / charging issues).

    4. Long-term Storage Specification: Full charge state storage at -25°C ~ 45°C dry ventilated environment (avoid direct sunlight); supplementary charge every 3-6 months (constant voltage 2.27V/cell × 24h); self-discharge rate 2%/month (25°C), over 12 months without charging need capacity test before reuse; batteries stored >2 years recommend derating use.

    5. First Use / Long-term Idle Battery Activation: Factory new battery after receiving first check terminal voltage + appearance; idle >6 months first use 0.05C small current discharge to 1.80V/cell, then charge per normal charging curve; series strings (48V / 110V / 220V) before commissioning need “group balancing” to ensure each cell voltage deviation < 0.05V.

US Distributor’s Story: Cutting Returns by 40% with CHISEN’s Quality

The Problem: Returns Were Eating Profits Alive

When a major US battery distributor started carrying a popular budget battery brand in 2021, the numbers seemed attractive at first. The price was competitive, the margins were healthy, and the manufacturer promised reliable performance.

Eighteen months later, the reality was brutal.

“Our return rate hit 18%,” the company’s purchasing manager recalled. “We were essentially shipping batteries back and forth across the Pacific for free. Every return ate into our margin, and our technicians were spending more time on warranty claims than selling new inventory.”

The distributor’s data showed a consistent pattern: batteries failing within the first 90 days, primarily due to premature capacity loss and case swelling in warmer climates.

The Search for a Better Partner

The management team began evaluating alternative suppliers systematically. Quality certifications, manufacturing facility audits, and extended testing programs narrowed the field to three candidates. CHISEN Battery stood out for two reasons: documented cycle test results and a willingness to provide samples for independent testing.

“We sent CHISEN batteries to three independent labs,” the purchasing manager said. “The results were consistent and impressive — particularly their cycle life data and thermal stability performance.”

    The Transition

The distributor transitioned to CHISEN 6-GFM series batteries for UPS applications and CHISEN 6-EVF series for their growing electric vehicle segment.

    Implementation approach:

    • Initial 3-month trial with CHISEN 6-GFM-65 for UPS inventory
    • Parallel testing: existing brand vs. CHISEN in identical applications
    • Full inventory transition after 90-day performance data confirmed

    Results After 12 Months

    Technician hours on claims28 hrs/week9 hrs/week-68%
    Customer retention71%89%+18pts
    Net margin per unit$3.20$6.80+113%

“The quality improvement was immediate,” the manager said. “Our retailers noticed within the first month. They stopped calling us about bad batteries and started calling to reorder.”

    The Margin Surprise

Perhaps most surprising to the management team: despite CHISEN’s slightly higher unit cost, the overall margin per dollar of revenue actually improved significantly. With fewer returns, less warranty labor, and dramatically reduced customer churn, the total cost of doing business with CHISEN was substantially lower than the cheaper alternative.

“The cheapest battery is never the cheapest,” the manager concluded. “CHISEN taught us that lesson with actual data.”

    What’s Next

The distributor has since expanded their CHISEN product line to include CHISEN’s CNFJ series for telecom applications and is evaluating CHISEN’s LiFePO4 offerings for emerging market segments.

  • Africa Telecom Tower Battery Market: Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa 2026

Africa Telecom Tower Battery Market: Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa 2026

Sub-Saharan Africa’s telecom infrastructure expansion is creating one of the world’s most active battery demand markets. With over 75,000 new telecom tower sites scheduled for deployment between 2026 and 2030 across Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and an existing installed base of 320,000+ towers requiring battery replacement every 3–5 years, the annual battery demand from Africa’s telecom sector now exceeds 2.8 billion ampere-hours per year — a market valued at USD 1.2–1.8 billion at current pricing. For battery suppliers capable of navigating the certification, logistics, and channel complexity of African market entry, this is one of the highest-opportunity markets in the global energy storage sector.

Why Africa’s Telecom Tower Battery Market Is Structurally Unique

Three characteristics distinguish the African telecom tower battery market from all other global regions, and each creates both barriers to entry and competitive advantages for well-prepared suppliers.

Climate intensity: The majority of Africa’s telecom towers are located in environments that accelerate lead-acid battery degradation at rates 2–4× faster than temperate conditions. In Lagos, ambient temperatures inside non-air-conditioned tower shelters regularly reach 40–45°C during dry season months. At 45°C, VRLA AGM battery design life collapses from 10 years to 2–3 years under float service conditions. This thermal acceleration means that batteries specified for European or North American tower deployments without temperature derating will fail prematurely in African conditions — and that suppliers who understand hot-climate battery engineering have a decisive technical advantage.

Grid instability driving discharge frequency: Average grid availability in Sub-Saharan Africa ranges from 65% in Nigeria’s hinterland states to 94% in South Africa’s urban areas. For towers without hybrid solar-diesel configurations, each grid outage forces a battery discharge cycle. Towers in northern Nigeria experience an average of 150–250 unplanned grid interruptions per year. At this cycling frequency, a standard VRLA AGM battery rated for 500 cycles at 80% depth of discharge will reach end-of-life in 2–4 years. This cycling demand is why hot-climate OPzV batteries with 1,200–1,500 cycle ratings have become the preferred specification for new tower deployments across East and West Africa, despite their higher upfront cost.

Logistics complexity: Importing batteries into Nigeria, Kenya, or Tanzania requires navigating multi-layered customs procedures, inland transport from coastal ports, and last-mile delivery to tower sites that are frequently accessible only by unpaved roads. A 48V 150Ah battery string for a telecom tower weighs 180–240 kg and ships as a palletised unit measuring approximately 1.2m × 0.8m × 0.6m. Getting that pallet from Shanghai or Shenzhen to a tower site in Katsina State or the Kenyan highlands requires 4–6 weeks of transit time and a logistics partner with established capabilities in the target market.

Nigeria: The Continent’s Largest Single-Country Battery Market

Nigeria’s telecom sector hosts approximately 45,000 active tower sites as of 2026, operated by IHS Towers (25,000+ sites), ATC Africa (8,000+ sites), and several smaller towercos including Swift Telecoms and Alton. The country adds 2,000–3,500 new tower sites annually, primarily in rural and semi-urban areas where grid connectivity is poorest and battery backup is most critical.

Battery specification for Nigerian tower deployments has converged on 48V strings of 12V 100Ah or 12V 150Ah VRLA AGM batteries, configured for a minimum of 10 hours autonomy at full load. Tower load profiles typically range from 1.5kW (GSM micro-cell) to 6kW (LTE macro-site with rectifier system), meaning a typical 48V 200Ah battery string must supply 50–125A for 10 hours — a demanding deep-cycle service requirement that is pushing tower operators away from standard automotive AGM batteries toward purpose-built telecom batteries with thicker plates, higher antimony content for deep-cycling tolerance, and extended capacity ratings.

SONCAP (Standard Organisation of Nigeria Conformity Assessment Programme) certification is mandatory for all battery imports into Nigeria. The certification process requires product testing at a SONCAP-accredited laboratory, typically TÜV Rheinland Nigeria, Intertek Lagos, or SGS Nigeria. For a lead-acid battery manufacturer, SONCAP certification costs USD 3,000–8,000 per product model and is valid for 3 years. Without SONCAP documentation, customs clearance at Apapa (Lagos) or Port Harcourt ports will be blocked and goods may be detained or re-exported.

Nigerian market battery demand calculation: At 45,000 existing towers with an average 4-year replacement cycle, the annual replacement demand is approximately 11,250 towers × 4 batteries × 100Ah = 4.5 million Ah per year at 48V. At current pricing of USD 120–180 per 12V 100Ah telecom AGM battery, the annual replacement market is approximately USD 54–81 million — and growing by 15–20% annually as the tower count expands.

Kenya: The East African Hub with Solar-Hybrid as the Standard

Kenya’s telecom tower market operates from a fundamentally different technical baseline than Nigeria. With approximately 8,500 active tower sites and one of the highest solar irradiance levels in Africa (4.5–6.5 kWh/m²/day across most of the country), Kenya has become the continental leader in hybrid solar-diesel tower deployments. Approximately 65% of new Kenyan tower builds in 2025–2026 include solar PV panels with battery storage, compared to a 20–30% solar hybrid rate in Nigeria.

The battery requirement for solar-hybrid towers differs significantly from grid-connected sites. Solar-hybrid batteries undergo daily partial cycling — typically 20–40% depth of discharge on a predictable daily cycle — rather than the deep, irregular discharge events that characterise grid-unreliable sites. This cycling profile is much less demanding for lead-acid chemistry: an OPzV 2V cell rated at 1,500 cycles at 80% DoD will achieve 5,000–8,000 cycles at 30% DoD, extending design life from 3–4 years to 10–15 years in a solar-hybrid configuration.

Safaricom (72% owned by Vodafone, 28% by government), Airtel Kenya, and JTL (Faiba) collectively operate Kenya’s tower infrastructure. Safaricom’s network expansion plan targets 100% population coverage by 2027, which requires approximately 1,200 new tower sites per year in underserved rural areas. These rural sites are predominantly solar-hybrid, and the battery specification for these deployments increasingly mandates OPzV tubular GEL chemistry with 10+ year design life.

Kenya uses the KEBS PVOC (Kenya Bureau of Standards Pre-Export Verification of Conformity) system for battery imports. PVOC certification must be obtained before shipment and is typically handled by a Kenyan-appointed Pre-Export Verification company (SGS Kenya, Bureau Veritas Kenya, or Cotecna) that inspects goods at the port of origin. For a battery exporter, the PVOC process adds USD 1.50–3.00 per 100kg to landed cost but is the only reliable route to customs clearance at Mombasa port.

South Africa: Mature Market, Higher Margins

South Africa’s 55,000+ telecom tower sites represent the most technically demanding and regulation-intensive telecom battery market in Africa. The regulatory framework — governed by ICASA (Independent Communications Authority of South Africa) and the Department of Communications and Digital Technologies — requires that all critical infrastructure, including telecom towers, maintain minimum 6-hour battery backup capacity. South African tower companies including ATC South Africa, SWAP, and Teljoy operate under these requirements with a preference for premium-quality batteries that can deliver reliable performance in a market where grid power (Eskom-operated) has become increasingly unreliable since 2023.

The South African market offers the highest margins in Africa for quality battery suppliers, but also the highest compliance barriers. SABS (South African Bureau of Standards) certification is required for all electrical products sold in South Africa, and lead-acid batteries must comply with SANS 601 and SANS 1527 standards for telecom and industrial batteries. The SABS certification process for a new product model takes 3–6 months and costs USD 8,000–20,000 — a significant investment that filters out low-quality competitors and creates a more predictable competitive environment for established manufacturers.

Eskom’s load-shedding crisis — which peaked in 2023 with Stage 6 and Stage 8 power cuts implemented nationwide on multiple occasions — has permanently elevated battery autonomy requirements in South Africa’s tower specifications. Tower operators now specify minimum 10-hour autonomy at full load as standard, with 24-hour autonomy for critical sites near hospitals, government buildings, and data centres. This extended autonomy requirement favours higher-capacity battery configurations using 2V OPzS or OPzV cells, which provide more reliable deep-discharge performance at extended runtime durations than 12V AGM strings.

  • Forklift Battery 2026: Tubular Gel (CHISEN 6-EVF) vs Flat-Plate AGM — Which Should You Buy?

Forklift Battery 2026: Tubular Gel (CHISEN 6-EVF) vs Flat-Plate AGM — Which Should You Buy?

For warehouse managers, forklift fleet operators, and material handling equipment OEMs, the choice between tubular gel and flat-plate AGM battery technology is the single most consequential procurement decision for a new forklift or electric pallet jack. Both technologies deliver 12V power for traction applications, but the cycle life, total cost of ownership, and operational characteristics differ by 50–150% depending on the duty cycle.

This guide compares CHISEN’s tubular gel 6-EVF series against generic flat-plate AGM batteries in forklift traction duty, shows you where each technology wins, and provides a decision framework for selecting the correct battery for your fleet operation.

    Why Forklift Battery Choice Matters

A typical Class I electric counterbalance forklift uses a 48V or 80V battery pack with a capacity of 500–1,200 Ah. The battery is the single most expensive component of the electric forklift, often 25–35% of the total equipment cost. The battery also determines the operational uptime — a forklift that runs out of charge mid-shift is a workflow disruption that costs more than the battery itself.

The battery chemistry affects three operational metrics directly: cycle life (how many charge cycles before replacement), charging time (how fast the battery can be recharged during shift changes), and maintenance requirements (how often the battery needs water top-up, equalization charge, or terminal cleaning).

Tubular Gel vs Flat-Plate AGM: Engineering Differences

    Engineering FeatureTubular Gel (6-EVF)Flat-Plate AGM
Positive plate structureTubular (active material in woven tubes)Flat pasted grid
Electrolyte stateImmobilized gel (fumed silica)Absorbed in glass mat
    VentilationSealed, recombinationSealed, recombination
    Operating temperature range-40°C to +60°C-20°C to +50°C
    Cycle life at 80% DoD≥ 600 cycles200–350 cycles
    Specific energy (Wh/kg)35–40 Wh/kg30–35 Wh/kg
    Self-discharge per month≤ 2%≤ 3%
    Recovery from chronic underchargeExcellentPoor
    Recovery from chronic overchargeGoodFair
    Charging voltage14.2–14.4V (gel-specific)14.4–14.8V (AGM)
    Float voltage13.5–13.8V13.5–13.8V

The tubular plate construction is the key engineering difference. In a tubular plate, the active material is held in microporous tubes (typically non-woven polyester or fiberglass), which prevents the active material from shedding off the plate during deep discharge cycles. In a flat-plate AGM battery, the active material is pasted directly onto the grid, and the gradual shedding of active material during cycling is the primary failure mode.

The result is that tubular gel batteries deliver 2–3x the cycle life of flat-plate AGM batteries in deep-cycle traction duty. This is the primary cost-of-ownership advantage of tubular gel.

Application Duty Cycles and Battery Selection

    Forklift ApplicationTubular Gel (6-EVF)Flat-Plate AGM
    Single-shift warehouse (1 cycle/day)✅ Overkill, AGM sufficient✅ Correct choice
    Double-shift warehouse (2 cycles/day)✅ Excellent ROI⚠️ Marginal (frequent replacement)
    Triple-shift warehouse (3 cycles/day)✅ Required❌ Cycle life too short
Cold storage (-20°C or below)✅ Required❌ Capacity drops sharply
    High-temperature foundry (>40°C ambient)✅ Gel preferred⚠️ AGM degrades faster
Opportunity charging (frequent partial charge)✅ Gel recovers better⚠️ AGM suffers chronic undercharge
Fast charging (1 hour to 80%)✅ Gel handles high charge current⚠️ AGM heating concerns
Deep discharge to 80% DoD daily✅ Required❌ Cycle life too short

The clearest application for tubular gel is the double-shift or triple-shift warehouse. In a double-shift operation, the battery completes one full charge cycle and one partial cycle per day. In a triple-shift operation, the battery completes two full cycles plus one partial cycle per day. Over a 300-workday year, that is 600–900 cycles — which is exactly the cycle life rating of the CHISEN 6-EVF series. Flat-plate AGM batteries with 200–350 cycle life would need to be replaced 2–3 times during the same period.

Total Cost of Ownership: 5-Year Comparison

For a typical Class I forklift using a 48V 600Ah battery pack (built from 24 × 2V cells or 4 × 12V 100Ah batteries), the 5-year total cost of ownership comparison looks like this:

    Cost ComponentTubular Gel (CHISEN 6-EVF-100 × 4)Flat-Plate AGM (Generic × 4)
    Initial battery cost4 × $165 = $6604 × $130 = $520
    Battery replacement (year 1.6)—4 × $130 = $520
    Battery replacement (year 3.3)4 × $165 = $6604 × $130 = $520
    Battery replacement (year 5)4 × $165 = $660—
    Battery replacement labor (4 × $150)$600 (1 event)$1,200 (2 events)
    Charger cost (gel-compatible vs AGM)$45 vs $30 = +$15—
    Total 5-year cost$2,595$2,760

Over 5 years, the tubular gel battery costs $165 less in total ownership despite the higher unit price. The savings come from the longer cycle life (one fewer battery replacement) and the avoided replacement labor.

For a fleet of 10 forklifts, that is $1,650 in 5-year savings for the same operational throughput. For a fleet of 100 forklifts, that is $16,500 in savings. The savings scale linearly with fleet size.

For double-shift or triple-shift operations, the savings are even larger — the AGM battery would need 3–4 replacements over 5 years versus the gel battery’s 1–2 replacements, doubling or tripling the replacement cost differential.

    Drop-In Replacement Considerations

The 6-EVF-100 is dimensionally compatible with the BCI Group 27 footprint, which is the standard forklift traction battery form factor in North America and Europe. The drop-in replacement is straightforward — the 6-EVF-100 fits the same tray and uses the same M8 terminal as the AGM battery it replaces.

The only specification change required is the charger voltage. The 6-EVF-100 requires gel-specific charging voltage (14.2–14.4V absorption, 13.5–13.8V float), not AGM-specific (14.4–14.8V absorption). If you are switching from AGM to gel in an existing fleet, the chargers must be reconfigured or replaced. CHISEN supplies gel-compatible chargers at $45 per unit at 500-unit MOQ.

    Lead Time, MOQ, and Pricing

Standard 6-EVF-100 production orders run on a 20-day lead time for orders under 1,000 units and 30–35 days for full container loads. MOQ is 100 units for the standard SKU.

Order QuantityUnit Price (USD FOB Ningbo)
    100 units$185
    500 units$172
    1,000 units$165
    5,000 units$152

For a typical 4-battery forklift pack, the per-forklift battery cost is $660 at the 1,000-unit tier. For a 10-forklift fleet, the total battery cost is $6,600. For a 100-forklift fleet, the total is $66,000.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can I mix tubular gel and flat-plate AGM batteries in the same forklift?

No. Mixing battery technologies in the same pack causes the lower-capacity battery to over-discharge and fail prematurely. Use identical technology across all batteries in a single pack.

Can I switch from AGM to gel without changing the charger?

You can, but it will reduce the gel battery’s cycle life. The gel battery requires lower absorption voltage (14.2–14.4V vs 14.4–14.8V for AGM). At AGM voltages, the gel battery experiences grid corrosion at an accelerated rate, shortening cycle life by 30–40%.

    What about opportunity charging?

Tubular gel handles opportunity charging (frequent partial charge cycles) better than AGM because the gel electrolyte recovers more effectively from partial state of charge. For warehouses using opportunity charging during shift breaks, gel is the correct technology.

Can the 6-EVF-100 be used in a 24V forklift?

    Yes. Two 6-EVF-100 batteries in series deliver 24V 100Ah. For higher capacity, four 6-EVF-100 in series-parallel (2S2P) deliver 24V 200Ah. For 36V systems, three 6-EVF-100 in series deliver 36V 100Ah, or six 6-EVF-100 in series-parallel (3S2P) deliver 36V 200Ah. For 48V systems (most common), four 6-EVF-100 in series (4S1P) deliver 48V 100Ah, or eight in series-parallel (4S2P) deliver 48V 200Ah.

What is the warranty on the 6-EVF-100?

24 months from B/L date for manufacturing defects. The longer warranty (compared to 12 months for DZF/DMF series) reflects the longer cycle life of the EVF series. Warranty does not cover improper charging, deep discharge below 10.2V, or operation above 65°C ambient.

    6-EVF-150 12V 150Ah High-Capacity Tubular Gel Battery: Industrial & EV Procurement Guide (2026)

For industrial buyers sourcing large-format deep-cycle batteries — solar microgrid integrators, electric vehicle propulsion packagers, floor cleaning machine OEMs, and heavy-duty traction applications — the 6-EVF-150 is the capacity step where CHISEN’s tubular gel technology delivers the strongest return on investment. At 150Ah in a single 12V block, the 6-EVF-150 sits at the high-capacity end of the EVF series, between the popular 6-EVF-100 and the multi-cell 3-EVF / 4-EVF configurations designed for 6V and 8V high-voltage packs.

This guide walks through CHISEN’s factory specifications for the 6-EVF-150, shows you which applications justify the higher unit cost versus the 6-EVF-100, and explains the procurement math that determines whether a high-capacity battery program is profitable at scale.

For solar microgrid applications in the commercial segment (small business, rural clinic, school, or small commercial facility), the 6-EVF-150 is the correct size because the daily energy demand is typically 1.5–2.0 kWh, which is beyond the single-day capacity of a 6-EVF-100. Two 6-EVF-150 batteries in parallel can deliver 3.0 kWh per day, which covers most small commercial solar installations.

    Application Matrix for 6-EVF-150

    ApplicationRecommended ConfigurationDaily Cycles
    Commercial solar microgrid2 × 6-EVF-150 (parallel)1 cycle
Utility electric vehicle (golf cart, AGV)4 × 6-EVF-150 (series, 48V)1 cycle
    Heavy-duty floor scrubber4 × 6-EVF-150 (series, 48V)1–2 cycles
    Telecom BTS (high-power site)1 × 6-EVF-150Float duty
    Marine house bank (mid-size yacht)2 × 6-EVF-150 (parallel)1 cycle
    RV house bank2 × 6-EVF-150 (parallel)1 cycle
    Off-grid cabin4 × 6-EVF-150 (series-parallel, 24V 300Ah)1 cycle

For utility electric vehicles like the Club Car Carryall 500 or Polaris Ranger EV, the standard 48V battery bay is configured for four 12V batteries in series. Using four 6-EVF-150 in series delivers a 48V 150Ah pack, which translates to roughly 7.2 kWh of usable energy at 80% DoD — enough for 4–6 hours of continuous operation in light-duty utility applications.

Cycle Life and Total Cost of Ownership

The 6-EVF-150 is rated for ≥ 600 cycles at 80% DoD, which means a daily discharge of 80% delivers approximately 600 days of service — about 1.6 years in heavy solar duty. For lighter applications at 50% DoD, the cycle life extends to roughly 1,200 cycles, or 3.3 years of service.

For a commercial solar microgrid using two 6-EVF-150 batteries in parallel (24V 150Ah equivalent, 3.0 kWh per day), the total cost of ownership over 5 years looks like this:

    Cost ComponentCalculation5-Year Cost
    Initial battery purchase2 × $245 (1,000-unit tier)$490
    Battery replacement (year 1.6 + year 3.3)4 × $245$980
    Battery replacement (year 5)2 × $245 (estimated)$490
Total battery cost over 5 years—$1,960

Compared to a generic 12V 150Ah AGM battery that delivers 200–300 cycles at 80% DoD, the 6-EVF-150 lasts roughly 2–3x longer, which means 2–3 fewer battery replacements over the 5-year period. The total cost saving over 5 years is approximately $1,500–$2,500 per installation.

    Drop-In Replacement Compatibility

The 6-EVF-150 shares its 170 mm width and 240 mm height with the 6-EVF-100, but the 483 mm length is longer. This means the 6-EVF-150 does not drop into the same battery tray as the 6-EVF-100 — it requires a larger battery bay. For applications where the existing tray is sized for the 100Ah footprint, you cannot upgrade to 150Ah without replacing the tray.

For OEM applications, CHISEN’s engineering team can provide CAD drawings of the 6-EVF-150 footprint for tray design. Lead time for a custom tray is typically 30 days. The CAD drawings are available on request and free of charge for OEM customers with confirmed annual volume commitments.

    Lead Time, MOQ, and Pricing

Standard 6-EVF-150 production orders run on a 25-day lead time for orders under 500 units and 35–40 days for full container loads. MOQ is 100 units for the standard SKU; custom branding requires 500-unit MOQ and a 45-day lead time.

Order QuantityUnit Price (USD FOB Ningbo)
    100 units$265
    500 units$245
    1,000 units$228
    5,000 units$212

A 20GP container holds approximately 600 units; a 40HQ holds approximately 1,400 units. DDP terms are available for the United States, Germany, and the UAE.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 6-EVF-150 and 6-EVF-150B?

The 6-EVF-150B has a slightly heavier weight (52.5 kg) and a higher cycle life rating (≥ 700 cycles at 80% DoD). The 6-EVF-150B is the correct choice for applications where maximum cycle life is the priority. The 6-EVF-150 is the correct choice for applications where the standard cycle life is sufficient.

Can I use the 6-EVF-150 in parallel with the 6-EVF-100?

Technically yes, but not recommended. Mixing different capacity batteries in parallel causes the smaller battery to over-discharge and the larger battery to under-utilize its capacity. For the lowest total cost of ownership, use identical capacity models across the entire battery bank.

What is the maximum string length for 6-EVF-150 in series?

Up to 4 batteries in series (48V system) is standard. For 6 batteries in series (72V system), consult CHISEN engineering for voltage balancing recommendations. Beyond 72V, we recommend the OPzV series (2V cells) for high-voltage battery banks.

Can the 6-EVF-150 be used in a 24V system?

    Yes. Two 6-EVF-150 batteries in series deliver 24V 150Ah. For higher capacity, four 6-EVF-150 in series-parallel (2S2P) deliver 24V 300Ah. For 48V systems, four 6-EVF-150 in series (4S1P) deliver 48V 150Ah, or eight 6-EVF-150 in series-parallel (4S2P) deliver 48V 300Ah.

  • 6-EVF-100 12V 100Ah Tubular Gel Battery: Specification Guide for Solar, EV, and Industrial Buyers (2026)

6-EVF-100 12V 100Ah Tubular Gel Battery: Specification Guide for Solar, EV, and Industrial Buyers (2026)

For buyers searching “gel battery” — a search term up 11.06% year-on-year on Alibaba — the 6-EVF-100 is the capacity sweet spot. It delivers 100Ah in a single 12V block, which is the most flexible building block for solar storage banks, electric vehicle propulsion packs, floor cleaning machines, and telecom backup systems. This guide walks through CHISEN’s 6-EVF-100 factory specifications, explains the real-world performance in each application segment, and shows you how to evaluate competing gel SKUs before placing a 20GP order.

The 6-EVF-100 belongs to CHISEN’s EVF series, which uses tubular gel technology rather than flat-plate AGM. Tubular gel delivers three structural advantages over AGM: zero electrolyte stratification in partial-state-of-charge duty, zero acid spill risk in any orientation, and significantly better recovery from chronic undercharge conditions. Those three advantages matter most in solar storage, electric vehicle propulsion, and industrial applications where the battery sits in harsh duty cycles for years.

    CHISEN 6-EVF-100: Factory Specifications

Equalization Voltage14.2–14.4V (gel-specific, lower than AGM)
    Self-Discharge (25°C, monthly)≤ 2%
    Operating Temperature (discharge)-40°C to +60°C
    Operating Temperature (charge)-20°C to +50°C
    Internal Resistance≤ 5.5 mΩ
    Max Discharge Current (5s)800A

The 6-EVF-100 is rated at the C3 (3-hour) rate rather than the C2 rate used for DZF/DMF series. This reflects the application difference: the EVF series is designed for traction and deep-cycle applications where the discharge profile is 3–5 hours of moderate current, not the 1–2 hour high-current profile of an e-bike primary pack.

What Each Specification Means for Your Application

Tubular Plate Construction. The “EVF” designation indicates tubular positive plates, where the active material is held in microporous tubes rather than pasted onto a flat grid. Tubular plates deliver 1.5–2x the cycle life of flat-plate AGM at deep discharge (80% DoD), which is the relevant metric for solar storage and EV propulsion. The trade-off is roughly 15% higher unit cost and roughly 20% heavier weight per amp-hour.

Rated Capacity at 3hr (100Ah). A 6-EVF-100 at the C3 rate delivers 33 amps continuously for 3 hours before reaching 10.5V cutoff. For solar storage, that is enough capacity to run a 1,000W inverter at 50% load for 1 hour, or a 200W inverter at 50% load for 5 hours. For EV propulsion (floor scrubber, small electric vehicle), that translates to roughly 4–6 hours of continuous operation depending on load.

Cycle Life ≥ 600 cycles at 80% DoD. This is the critical number for solar storage and EV applications. At 600 cycles with daily 80% depth discharge, the battery delivers approximately 600 days of service — about 1.6 years in heavy solar duty. For lighter applications (50% DoD), the cycle life extends to roughly 1,200 cycles, or 3+ years of service. Compared to a generic 12V 100Ah AGM that delivers 200–300 cycles at 80% DoD, the tubular gel advantage is 2–3x.

Operating Temperature -40°C to +60°C. The EVF series uses a higher specific gravity electrolyte than the DZF/DMF series, which extends the low-temperature operating range. For cold-storage warehouses, Nordic telecom sites, and northern climate applications, this temperature range matters. The upper limit of +60°C is also higher than the standard +50°C of AGM batteries, making the EVF series suitable for under-hood EV applications and hot-climate solar installations.

Self-Discharge ≤ 2% per month. The gel electrolyte suppresses self-discharge more effectively than AGM. For seasonal applications (summer-only marine, winter-only backup), this means a 6-month storage period results in only 12% capacity loss — versus 18% for AGM. Your customers will not return from storage to find dead batteries.

Internal Resistance ≤ 5.5 mΩ. Low internal resistance is critical for high-current applications. The 6-EVF-100 can deliver 800A for 5 seconds without damage, which is sufficient for engine starting, motor inrush current, and inverter surge conditions. Generic 12V 100Ah batteries typically specify internal resistance of 8–12 mΩ, which limits their surge capability and accelerates heat buildup under load.

Drop-In Replacement Compatibility Across the EVF Series

The EVF series shares the same BCI group footprint as the standard lead acid 12V 100Ah form factor, but the tubular gel construction requires the charger to be set to gel-specific voltage parameters. If you are replacing flooded or AGM batteries with the 6-EVF-100 in an existing system, the charger must be reconfigured to 14.2–14.4V absorption (not 14.4–14.8V for AGM) and 13.5–13.8V float.

The 6-EVF-100 fits the standard battery tray used in:

    ApplicationStandard Tray Size
    Floor scrubber / sweeper330 × 175 × 240 mm
Small electric vehicle (golf cart, AGV)Group 27 footprint compatible
Telecom BTS cabinet12V 100Ah standard bay
Solar storage bankStandard 12V 100Ah rack
Marine house bankGroup 27 standard tray

If your existing tray is sized for a different BCI group (Group 24, Group 31), the 6-EVF-100 will not fit without modification. The 6-EVF-100 is the Group 27 footprint. CHISEN can provide dimension-matched variants (6-EVF-100N at 32.5 kg, 6-EVF-100E at 33.2 kg) for applications where vibration resistance or extended cycle life is the priority.

Application-Specific Selection: Which 6-EVF Variant Fits Your Use Case

    ApplicationRecommended VariantWhy
Solar home system (PSOC duty)6-EVF-100 standardGel recovery from partial state of charge
Floor scrubber / sweeper6-EVF-100 standardDaily deep cycle, vibration resistance
Telecom BTS backup6-EVF-100 standardWide temperature range, low self-discharge

Harsh environment (mining, marine)6-EVF-100EHighest vibration resistance, longest cycle life
UPS battery bank (data center)6-EVF-100 standardFloat duty, low self-discharge

For solar home systems where the battery sits at 40–80% state of charge for extended periods (cloudy seasons), the gel electrolyte’s recovery characteristic is decisive. AGM batteries in the same duty cycle lose 30–40% of their cycle life; gel batteries lose less than 10%.

CHISEN 6-EVF-100: Lead Time and Pricing

Standard 6-EVF-100 production orders run on a 20-day lead time for orders under 1,000 units and 30–35 days for full container loads. MOQ is 100 units for the standard SKU; custom branding requires 500-unit MOQ and a 40-day lead time.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 6-EVF-100 and 6-DMF-100?

The EVF designation indicates tubular gel construction with higher cycle life and wider temperature range. The DMF designation indicates flat-plate sealed lead acid (AGM-equivalent) at lower cost. For deep-cycle daily use (solar, EV, scrubber), EVF is the correct choice. For float backup (UPS, security), DMF is sufficient.

Can I use a standard AGM charger on a 6-EVF-100?

You can, but you should reconfigure the absorption voltage to 14.2–14.4V (not the AGM-specific 14.4–14.8V). Charging gel at AGM voltages accelerates grid corrosion and shortens cycle life. CHISEN supplies gel-compatible chargers at $45 per unit at 500-unit MOQ.

What is the cycle life at 50% DoD?

At 50% depth of discharge, the 6-EVF-100 delivers approximately 1,200 cycles at 25°C. At 80% DoD, 600 cycles. At 100% DoD, approximately 350 cycles. These are factory-tested figures at C3 discharge rate.

Can the 6-EVF-100 be mounted in any orientation?

Yes. Gel electrolyte is fully immobilized, so the battery can be mounted on its side or even upside down without leakage. This is a structural advantage over flooded and AGM batteries, which must remain upright.

    What is the warranty?

24 months from B/L date for manufacturing defects. The longer warranty (compared to the 12-month warranty on DZF/DMF series) reflects the longer cycle life of the EVF series. Warranty does not cover improper charging, deep discharge below 10.2V, or operation above 65°C ambient.

  • 6-DZF-20 12V 20Ah Lead Acid Battery for E-Bike: Factory Specifications & Procurement Guide (2026)

    6-DZF-20 12V 20Ah Lead Acid Battery for E-Bike: Factory Specifications & Procurement Guide (2026)

For OEM e-bike packagers, electric scooter integrators, and replacement-battery distributors, the 6-DZF-20 is the single most-requested SKU in the lead acid family — and for good reason. It is the battery that powers roughly 38% of all exported electric two-wheelers from China, and its 12V 20Ah form factor is the universal standard that fits the vast majority of controller compartments built since 2018. This guide walks through CHISEN’s factory specifications, explains what each parameter means for your application, and shows you how to evaluate competing SKUs before placing a 20GP order.

Across 32,000+ Alibaba International Station buyers, “battery 12v 20ah” is the fastest-rising search term in the entire battery category this year — up 22.22% on search index. Within that trend, the 6-DZF-20 specification dominates because it is the most standardized form factor in global e-bike, e-scooter, and electric tricycle use. If you are a distributor, OEM packager, or importer, this is the SKU to lock down.

    CHISEN 6-DZF-20: Factory Specifications

    ParameterSpecification
    Model6-DZF-20
    Nominal Voltage12V
    Rated Capacity (2hr)20Ah
    Length180 mm
    Width76 mm
    Height170 mm
    Total Height (with terminals)170 mm
    Weight (Kg ±0.2)6.1 kg

    Cycle Life (50% DoD, 25°C)≥ 280 cycles
    Float Voltage13.5–13.8V
    Equalization Voltage14.4–14.8V
    Self-Discharge (25°C, monthly)≤ 3%
    Operating Temperature (discharge)-20°C to +50°C
    Operating Temperature (charge)0°C to +40°C

These specifications are factory-tested at the C2 (2-hour) rate to 100% depth of discharge, with all dimensions measured at 25°C ambient temperature and the unit at full charge. The terminal configuration φ8.8-M5 indicates an 8.8mm insert terminal with an M5 bolt thread — this is the standard for the 6-DZF-20 form factor globally. If a competing supplier offers a 12V 20Ah with a different terminal (φ6.0-M4 or φ10-M6), it is either a non-standard variant or a different cell series entirely.

What Each Specification Means for Your Application

Rated Capacity at 2hr (20Ah). The 2-hour rate is the relevant discharge rate for electric two-wheeler applications because the typical discharge profile is 1–3 hours per ride, not the 20-hour rate used for solar storage sizing. A 6-DZF-20 at the C2 rate delivers 10 amps continuously for 2 hours before reaching 10.5V cutoff. In real-world e-bike terms, that is approximately 25–35 km of range per charge, depending on rider weight, terrain, and assist level.

Dimensions (180 × 76 × 170 mm). These dimensions fit the standard 6-DZF-20 battery tray used by Yadea, TAILG, Aima, Sunra, and roughly 80% of all Chinese e-bike OEM manufacturers. If you are packaging your own e-bike, the 180mm length defines the tray width; if you are replacing a battery in an existing vehicle, the 6-DZF-20 is a drop-in replacement for the OEM tray without any modification. Tolerance is ±2mm on all dimensions; CHISEN holds ±1mm in production.

Weight 6.1 kg. The 6.1 kg weight reflects the optimized plate count and AGM separator density that CHISEN uses. A cheaper 12V 20Ah with weight below 5.5 kg is a sign of plate count reduction — that is the supplier cutting cost where you cannot see it. A heavier 12V 20Ah at 6.5+ kg is either a higher-density industrial unit or an older flooded design. 6.1 kg is the sweet spot for the e-bike form factor.

Cycle Life ≥ 280 cycles at 50% DoD. This is the number that determines your warranty cost. At 280 cycles with daily 50% depth discharge, the battery delivers approximately 770 days of service — about 2.1 years for a daily commuter. Compared to a generic 12V 20Ah that delivers 110–150 cycles at the same DoD, you are looking at 1.8–2.5x the service life per battery. That is the warranty math your distributor network cares about.

Self-Discharge ≤ 3% per month. This matters for inventory and shipping. A 6-DZF-20 manufactured in CHISEN’s facility and shipped FOB Ningbo arrives at the customer’s warehouse with no more than 3% capacity loss in transit. A cheaper cell with 5% monthly self-discharge can arrive below 90% state of charge if the shipping leg takes 4+ weeks — and your customer perceives that as a defective battery on arrival.

Drop-In Replacement Compatibility: Which Brands Fit a 6-DZF-20

The 6-DZF-20 specification is so standardized that CHISEN’s unit is a direct drop-in replacement for the following OEM battery trays (with confirmed compatibility tests):

    OEM BrandBattery Tray ModelDrop-In Compatible
    Yadea (雅迪)Yadea 6-DZF-20 standard✅ Confirmed
    TAILG (台铃)TAILG 6-DZF-20 standard✅ Confirmed
    Aima (爱玛)Aima 6-DZF-20 standard✅ Confirmed
    Sunra (新日)Sunra 6-DZF-20 standard✅ Confirmed
    Luyuan (绿源)Luyuan 6-DZF-20 standard✅ Confirmed
    Ninebot / Segway-NinebotNinebot 12V 20Ah pack✅ Confirmed
    Generic Chinese OEMStandard 180 × 76 × 170 mm tray✅ Confirmed

If your e-bike brand uses a non-standard tray (typically due to a custom controller enclosure or a pack assembly with BMS), the 6-DZF-20 can still be used — but you will need a custom adapter plate. CHISEN can provide that adapter plate as part of a 5,000-unit OEM order.

How to Evaluate a 12V 20Ah Lead Acid Battery Before You Order 10,000 Units

Before placing any bulk order, run through this 8-point checklist with the supplier’s documentation. A serious manufacturer will answer all 8 within 24 hours.

    1. C2 cycle test report to 50% depth of discharge, third-party lab stamped. Cycle claims without a test report are marketing copy.

    2. Plate thickness measured by cross-section photo. Industrial-grade plates run 2.8–3.4 mm; anything under 2.4 mm is cost-cutting.

    3. Grid alloy certificate from the smelter. Sb-Ca-Sn alloys with tin content above 0.8% resist corrosion better than pure calcium grids.

    4. AGM separator manufacturer and country of origin. Imported AGM (Hollingsworth & Vose, Nippon Sheet Glass) costs 8–12% more and is worth it.

    5. Self-discharge rate measured over 28 days at 25°C. Below 3% per month is industry standard; above 4% indicates internal micro-short circuits.

    6. Vibration resistance test certificate. For e-bike primary pack duty, 4G over 2 hours on three axes is the minimum.

    7. Terminal torque rating of the M5 bolt. Insert terminals should withstand 4–6 N·m without cracking.

    8. CE / UL / IEC 60896-21 certification scope and validity dates. Confirm the certificate covers the 12V 20Ah SKU specifically, not just the parent product family.

A supplier who answers all 8 within 24 hours is a manufacturer. A supplier who takes 5 days or answers vaguely is a trading company reselling someone else’s rejects. The unit price gap between the two is usually under 8% — but the warranty cost gap is 200–400%.

CHISEN 6-DZF-20 Lead Time, MOQ, and Pricing

Standard 6-DZF-20 production orders run on a 15-day lead time for orders under 5,000 units and 25–30 days for full container loads. MOQ is 200 units for the standard SKU; custom branding (color, label, packaging) requires 1,000-unit MOQ and a 35-day lead time. FOB Ningbo pricing for the standard 6-DZF-20:

    Order QuantityUnit Price (USD FOB)
    1,000 units$11.20
    5,000 units$10.50
    10,000 units$9.90
    20,000 units (40HQ)$9.40

A 20GP container holds approximately 5,000 units; a 40HQ holds approximately 12,000 units. DDP terms are available for the United States, Germany, and the United Arab Emirates. For all other destinations, FOB Ningbo is standard with full CE / UL / IEC documentation prepared for customs clearance.

For OEM-branded orders (your brand on the box, your logo on the label), pricing is the same as the standard SKU above — the customization cost is in the one-time tooling fee, which we absorb into MOQ structure rather than per-unit pricing.

    Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between 6-DZF-20 and 6-DMF-20?

The “DZF” designation indicates a deep-cycle flooded lead acid battery optimized for daily deep discharge cycling. The “DMF” designation is a sealed maintenance-free variant with similar capacity but different venting characteristics. For e-bike primary pack duty, both work; DZF is more common in OEM applications, DMF is more common in replacement markets where the customer wants zero maintenance.

Can I mix 6-DZF-20 batteries of different ages in the same pack?

No. Mixing batteries of different ages in a series string forces the older batteries into deeper discharge than they were designed for, accelerating their failure. Replace the entire pack at once, or replace only batteries that are within 3 months of manufacture date of the existing pack.

What is the warranty on CHISEN 6-DZF-20?

12 months from B/L date for manufacturing defects. Warranty does not cover improper charging, deep discharge below 10.5V, physical damage, or operation above 60°C ambient. Extended warranty terms (24 months) are available for OEM customers signing annual supply agreements.

Can CHISEN match my existing private-label artwork?

Yes. Send us your existing label artwork (PDF or AI), and we will replicate it within 7 business days for sample approval. For new artwork, our design team can produce 3 initial concepts within 5 business days at no charge for orders over 5,000 units.

What certifications does CHISEN hold for the 6-DZF-20?

CE (EN 60896-21), UL 1989, IEC 60896-21/22, ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015. Certificates are issued in CHISEN’s legal name and are valid for 3 years from issue date. We provide scan copies with every shipment and can arrange apostilled originals for customers who need them for government tenders.
